Person Introduction

Yangyi Mao is a soprano and PhD researcher at the Royal Northern
College of Music. Her research focuses on poetry-music relationships and
cross-cultural studies of underrepresented vocal repertoire. She also leads performance classes on Chinese Art songs at the School of Vocal Studies and Opera. Her research was accepted for the 7th PSN International Conference and the International Symposium on Performance Science 2025, where she serves as a spoken presenter. Her work bridges cross-cultural scholarship within vocal studies.
