Person Introduction

Dan Baczkowski (1994) is a composer and music psychologist whose research is focused on listeners’ perception of time and large-scale form in music. His methodology includes a combination of composed pieces and empirical audience research. His PhD project is supervised by Prof. Adam Gorb and Dr Michelle Phillips.

Dan completed his MMus in Composition and Musicology at RNCM in 2022 studying with Adam Gorb and Paul Patterson, and a BA Hons in Composition from Leeds College of Music in 2015. His music has been performed both across the UK and internationally by groups such as Manger Musikklag, and The Band of HM Royal Marines Scotland.
